Union Minister J.P. Nadda revealed the Bharatiya Janata Party’s manifesto for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The manifesto focuses on welfare and development, emphasizing women, household finances, infrastructure, and law enforcement. The BJP aims to provide financial assistance to families, criticizing inflation and pledging support to women heads of households.
A key feature of the manifesto is a monthly aid of Rs 2,000 for women leading households, along with a one-time grant of Rs 10,000 per household. The party also promises three free LPG cylinders annually during major festivals like Pongal and Deepavali. Women’s welfare and entrepreneurship are central themes, with plans for interest-free loans for women-led manufacturing units and a 20% procurement quota for women-owned businesses.
The BJP’s manifesto includes proposals for a stringent anti-drug framework, emphasizing the establishment of a dedicated Tamil Nadu Drug Eradication Department. Measures such as zero-FIR registration, enhanced CCTV coverage, and utilization of the Nirbhaya Fund are also outlined to enhance safety, especially for women and children. Infrastructure development plans feature prominently, with proposals for high-speed rail corridors, regional transit systems, and sleeper Vande Bharat trains.
In the healthcare sector, the BJP promises free annual check-ups for senior citizens and enhanced trauma care facilities. Education and employment initiatives include interest-free student loans, district-level coaching centers, and the creation of government jobs. The manifesto also highlights plans for desalination expansion, industrial parks, and pilgrimage tourism initiatives to foster long-term economic growth.
