Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia praised BSNL for its financial and technical progress, highlighting a significant rise in Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) to Rs 101 in FY 2025-26 from Rs 71 the previous year, marking a 42% year-on-year growth. The minister led a review meeting at Vigyan Bhawan to assess BSNL’s performance for the fiscal year.
During the meeting, Scindia examined BSNL’s operational metrics, emphasizing Quality of Service (QoS), expansion of subscriber base, ARPU enhancement, and revenue milestones. He termed BSNL’s evolution from a 3G provider to a competitive 4G player as “transformative,” positioning India among five nations globally with end-to-end indigenous telecom capabilities.
The gathering also recognized exceptional achievements in various telecom circles and business verticals. The Odisha Circle was commended for balanced excellence, registering around 21% revenue growth from services and consistently meeting performance targets. Nationally, the Enterprise Business vertical was acknowledged as the top performer, with a 15% revenue increase from services compared to the previous year.
