Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia emphasized the need for environmental conservation to become a people’s movement, highlighting the importance of balancing economic growth with protecting natural resources. He launched the ‘Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan – Jan Sanrakshan Ka Jan Andolan’ at the origin of the Kuno River in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna district, stressing the role of public participation in conserving water, forests, and land.
Scindia stated that environmental protection is a collective responsibility towards future generations, emphasizing that public engagement is crucial for the conservation of water, forests, and land. He encouraged citizens to actively participate by planting trees and safeguarding water sources to ensure sustainable resource management.
The campaign, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative, saw Scindia planting 700 saplings at Kanja village. It aims to promote community involvement in water conservation and increase green cover in the region. Scindia commended the nationwide movement initiated by the Prime Minister’s plantation campaign, underscoring the significance of preserving nature for future prosperity.
