Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia is set to visit Sikkim from May 14 to 16 to partake in the Statehood Day festivities and assess various developmental projects in the region. Keeping in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s directives on cost-saving measures, Scindia plans to limit the convoy size and officials accompanying him during the trip.
During the Statehood Day celebrations in Gangtok, Scindia, along with Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan, will inaugurate multiple projects supported by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, including the USP Organic Farming Project of Sikkim. The visit aims to bolster developmental, tourism, educational, and agricultural initiatives in various locations across Sikkim.
Scindia’s itinerary includes visits to key sites such as Sikkim State University, Temi Tea Garden, Buddha Park, and the Bhaleydunga Skywalk Project, highlighting the government’s focus on enhancing infrastructure and connectivity in the Northeast region. The trip underscores the government’s commitment to promoting tourism, education, sustainable agriculture, and infrastructure development in Sikkim and neighboring states.
