Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel H.D. Kumaraswamy accused the Karnataka Congress government of lacking unity in safeguarding the state’s interests. He highlighted the need for Karnataka to emulate Andhra Pradesh’s approach to development despite political differences. Kumaraswamy referenced the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant’s revival package as a successful model.
Kumaraswamy emphasized the importance of states working together for progress, citing instances where Andhra Pradesh and Telangana sought support from the Centre. He underscored the need for Karnataka to learn from other states’ proactive strategies in attracting investments and infrastructure projects. The Minister also criticized the Karnataka government’s tree-planting initiatives, questioning the effectiveness of their efforts.
The Union Minister expressed concerns over obstacles faced by the Kudremukh Iron Ore Company due to alleged hindrances imposed by the Congress government. He warned of potential job losses and economic repercussions if the mining operations were disrupted. Kumaraswamy held the state government responsible for any adverse consequences resulting from impeding industrial activities.
