Union Minister for Food and Public Distribution, Pralhad Joshi, visited the residence of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda in Bengaluru to pay his respects to Chennamma, Deve Gowda’s wife, who passed away at the age of 85. Joshi, representing the Central government, offered floral tributes on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and expressed condolences to the bereaved family. He highlighted Chennamma’s simplicity and described her as a source of strength for the Deve Gowda family.
Joshi, after meeting with Deve Gowda and Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, conveyed the Prime Minister’s heartfelt condolences. He emphasized Chennamma’s unwavering support for her family despite their prominent political roles. Joshi praised her humble and grounded nature, stating that she set an example for future generations with her values and simplicity.
Describing Chennamma as an ideal homemaker, Joshi lauded her as a role model for society. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to pay his respects on behalf of the Central government. Joshi concluded by offering prayers for Chennamma’s soul and extending sympathies to her family, admirers, and well-wishers gathered at the family residence.
