Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri emphasized the significant impact of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives in shifting India’s development focus towards women-led growth. Speaking at the ‘Professionals Connect 2026’ conclave in Coimbatore, Puri praised the schemes for promoting dignity, security, and increased participation of women in nation-building efforts.
Puri commended Coimbatore as a city embodying enterprise, discipline, and confidence. He underscored the government’s efforts towards achieving energy security and promoting green energy transition as crucial components of India’s progress under PM Modi’s leadership.
Highlighting the success of Modi government’s reforms, Puri noted their role in bolstering India’s economic growth and positioning the nation on track to become the world’s third-largest economy. He emphasized the wide-reaching benefits of these policies, fostering social and financial inclusion across all segments of society.
Discussing India’s strides in energy security, Puri emphasized the expansion of energy infrastructure and the transition towards green energy sources. He mentioned achievements like 20% biofuel blending and advancements in green hydrogen production, aligning with the vision of a developed India.
Puri also pointed out the significant impact of initiatives like the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, highlighting the registration of over four crore houses in women’s names or jointly with them. He further noted the Swachh Bharat Mission’s role in providing dignity and safety to girls through the construction of toilets, often referred to as ‘izzat ghars.’
