Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has announced the renaming of the Udyog Bhawan Metro Station in Delhi to ‘Seva Teerth Bhawan’. This change signifies a shift in administrative identity and is in line with evolving governance priorities in central Delhi. The decision, revealed during a public address, emphasizes the importance of renaming public spaces to mirror the nation’s changing institutional ethos and governance vision.
The renaming aims to align the station’s identity with the broader vision associated with ‘Seva Teerth Bhawan’, symbolizing a transformation within the city’s central administrative zone. The process will be implemented following the completion of necessary administrative approvals and coordination with relevant authorities. The current Udyog Bhawan Metro Station, situated on the Yellow Line of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) network, plays a crucial role in serving key government offices and major administrative buildings in central Delhi.
Frequented by daily commuters, including government officials, employees, and visitors, the station’s proximity to important ministries and offices adds both logistical and symbolic significance to the renaming. Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new complex named ‘Seva Teerth’, housing the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS), and the Cabinet Secretariat. This unveiling marked a significant milestone, symbolizing the transition from the old PMO office at South Block to the modern ‘Seva Teerth’ complex on Kartavya Path, formerly known as Rajpath.
