Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, at the 6th Lok Samvardhan Parv in Dehradun, emphasized the government’s commitment to inclusive development under the motto “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas”. The festival, inaugurated in the presence of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, serves as a national platform for artisans and entrepreneurs to exhibit their talent and products.
With over 150 stalls featuring artisans and food, live craft demonstrations, and cultural performances, the event is a part of the PM VIKAS Scheme in collaboration with the Uttarakhand government. Rijiju expressed joy in hosting the festival in Uttarakhand, highlighting the opportunity for artisans to showcase their work and experience the state’s hospitality.
Rijiju stressed the government’s non-discriminatory approach towards citizens, emphasizing that the festival is not limited to minorities but is a celebration of India’s cultural heritage. Encouraging the promotion of indigenous products, he urged citizens to support local artisans by purchasing their creations, aligning with the vision of “Vocal for Local”.
The festival, organized by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India, in partnership with the Uttarakhand Minorities Welfare and Waqf Development Corporation, aims to empower minority communities through education, skill development, and market access. Rijiju commended Prime Minister Modi’s efforts in promoting Indian artisans and products, reflecting a shift towards embracing indigenous goods and supporting traditional livelihoods.
