Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, has instructed officials to promptly establish an efficient system to ensure that farmers and rural citizens can easily access government schemes and resolve grievances without delays. Emphasizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s directive for a hassle-free delivery of benefits, Chouhan highlighted the need for a coordinated approach across departments to enhance grievance redressal mechanisms. He underlined the importance of addressing complaints and grievances effectively, ensuring that benefits reach the intended recipients.
Chouhan directed the formation of specialized teams within the Agriculture and Rural Development Ministries to daily review complaints, grievances, and representations to ensure timely resolution. He stressed the significance of verifying the actual receipt of relief by beneficiaries and the proper delivery of scheme benefits. The Minister announced regular monthly reviews of the grievance redressal mechanisms to uphold accountability and responsiveness.
In line with the government’s focus on reforms, Chouhan urged departments to identify and simplify processes causing inconvenience to beneficiaries in various schemes and initiatives. He advocated for the elimination of unnecessary regulations and the adoption of streamlined procedures to facilitate swift decision-making. Emphasizing the role of technology in governance, Chouhan highlighted the importance of leveraging Artificial Intelligence and digital platforms for efficient data-driven decision-making and inter-departmental coordination.
Chouhan underscored the need for enhanced collaboration among different sectors such as Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, and Food Processing to promote integrated farming and value addition. He emphasized the significance of coordinated efforts among ministries to develop regional agricultural strategies and enhance productivity through collaborative functioning.
