Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti and Railways, V. Somanna, affirmed his loyalty to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and willingness to comply with the party’s high command decisions. Speculation surrounds the potential appointment of the next Karnataka BJP President following cross-voting by BJP MLAs in the State Legislative Council election.

There are rumors that Union Minister of State Somanna is being considered for the position of State BJP President. It is reported that he has met with BJP President Nitin Nabin regarding this matter. Hailing from the Lingayat community, the BJP views Somanna as a suitable candidate to succeed Vijayendra.

Somanna, known for his good relations with former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda and BJP National General Secretary B.L. Santhosh, emphasized his commitment to the party’s directives. He recalled instances where he followed the party’s instructions, including contesting in elections as directed by the leadership.

Referring to his electoral success in Tumakuru during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Somanna highlighted his adherence to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s development agenda. He expressed readiness to undertake any responsibilities entrusted to him by the party high command, national leadership, or state leadership.
