Union Minister Health J.P. Nadda and Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil are currently speaking at the closing session of the third edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) – South Gujarat in Surat. The event, spanning two days, has seen the participation of senior political figures, diplomats, and industry representatives.
During the conference, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is unveiling the book ‘South Gujarat – The Industrial Catalyst,’ a significant highlight of the concluding session. The event commenced at Auro University with an inauguration by Chief Minister Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi.
Sanghavi, in his address titled ‘South Gujarat as a Growth Centre,’ emphasized the importance of policy implementation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Patel. He highlighted that VGRC aims to expedite regional industrial growth, attract sector-specific investments, and foster global partnerships in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat at 2047.
State Finance Minister Kanu Desai is delivering the opening speech at the concluding session, which also includes contributions from industrialist Dr. Faruk Patel, Rwanda’s High Commissioner Jacqueline Mukangira, and Ukraine’s Ambassador Dr. Oleksandr Polishchuk.
The conference has hosted sectoral seminars and discussions covering various fields such as agriculture, horticulture, textiles, chemicals, petrochemicals, startups, nuclear energy, fertilizers, natural gas, and women’s empowerment. Additionally, country-specific sessions by Japan and Ukraine were organized.
The second day of the event focuses on the Regional MSME Conclave, highlighting sectors like gems and jewelry, circular economy, skill development, aerospace and defense, fisheries, cooperatives, green energy, green hydrogen, ecotourism, and urban economic zone development. A session by the Trade Representation of Russia in India is also part of the program.
In conjunction with the conference, the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Exhibition is taking place from May 1 to 5, covering 12,000 square meters at a single venue. It includes initiatives such as the Vendor Development Programme, International Reverse Buyer-Seller Meet (RBSM), and Udyami Mela, with the participation of industries, MSMEs, startups, and government departments across Bharuch, Dang, Navsari, Surat, Tapi, and Valsad districts.
