Union Ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Bhupender Yadav criticized the protest by Indian Youth Congress members at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, calling it an attempt to embarrass the nation during a showcase of India’s technological capabilities. Chouhan expressed dismay at the demonstrators, labeling them as frustrated individuals disrespecting the nation’s dignity.
Bhupender Yadav also denounced the protest, describing it as “absolute shamelessness” on a social media platform. He emphasized that such actions undermine India’s global image as a technology powerhouse. Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva accused the protesters of being “goons” and alleged support from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for forces working against India’s interests.
During the event, Youth Congress members reportedly disrupted the summit by removing their shirts and shouting slogans before being detained by security personnel. Legal action is being taken for breaching security norms, with the detained individuals questioned at Tilak Marg Police Station. The protest, which occurred as India hosted international delegates, aimed to raise concerns over unemployment, inflation, and the India–US trade deal.
Officials confirmed that the summit proceeded as planned despite the disturbance, with heightened security measures implemented following the incident.
