Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw is set to unveil and announce significant railway projects during his visit to Jodhpur and Jalore. The visit will bring infrastructure and connectivity benefits to western Rajasthan. Among the highlights are the expansion of the Jodhpur–Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat Express and the launch of a new train service. Anurag Tripathi, the Divisional Railway Manager in Jodhpur, shared that the Railway Minister will kick off the Jodhpur–Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat Express with a new 20-coach configuration to address high passenger demand.
The visit will witness the extension of the Sabarmati–Jodhpur Superfast Express up to Jaisalmer, aiming to enhance rail connectivity between Gujarat and western Rajasthan. Furthermore, the Railways will announce the Phase-2 development of the Vande Bharat sleeper train depot at Bhagat Ki Kothi. Plans also include increasing the speed limit on the Jodhpur–Luni–Marwar Junction rail section to 130 kmph for improved operational efficiency and reduced travel time.
Following the Jodhpur event, Ashwini Vaishnaw will proceed to Jalore by special train. There, he will inaugurate the new Bhuj–Delhi Express train, offering direct rail connectivity to Delhi for passengers in Jalore and nearby regions.
