An unchanged UP Warriorz team has won the toss and chosen to bowl first against defending champions Mumbai Indians in a Women’s Premier League (WPL) match at Dr. DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Mumbai Indians have found stability in their WPL campaign with two consecutive wins following an initial narrow loss. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur has been instrumental in this turnaround, scoring back-to-back half-centuries.

On the other hand, UP Warriorz are yet to secure a win after a recent close defeat to Delhi Capitals. Captain Meg Lanning expressed confidence in their decision to bowl first, emphasizing the importance of early pressure on Mumbai. Lanning highlighted the team’s talent and the ongoing challenge of optimizing their strengths for success.

MI skipper Harmanpreet Kaur announced Nat Sciver-Brunt’s return in place of a rested Hayley Matthews. Kaur emphasized the significance of maintaining their performance levels from the World Cup and praised Nicola Carey’s all-round contributions. She also discussed the pitch conditions and the team’s aim to post a competitive total.
