Amid rumors of internal dissent within the Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) after the Bihar Assembly elections, party leader Upendra Kushwaha has firmly refuted any chances of a division within the party. Speaking in Rohtas district, Kushwaha dismissed talks of internal discord and rebuffed claims of a rift within the RLM.
Responding to questions regarding a potential split in the party, Kushwaha emphasized that there was no possibility of any division and criticized certain sections of the media for raising unfounded issues. He stated that genuine concerns within the party, if any, would be appropriately addressed.
During an interaction with local residents at the Sasaram council, Kushwaha reiterated that discussions about a split or dissatisfaction among MLAs were unnecessary and misleading. Reports of dissatisfaction among three RLM MLAs have been circulating for some time, with several party workers resigning in recent weeks, sparking speculation of a potential split.
Political analysts note that the reported discontent arose after Kushwaha’s wife, Snehlata, won a ticket from the Sasaram Assembly constituency, and his son, Deepak Prakash, was appointed as a minister. This led to a series of resignations within the party, further fueling rumors of internal discord.
Despite efforts to demonstrate unity by organizing a Litti Chokha feast in Patna, three out of four RLM MLAs did not attend the event. These MLAs, including Snehlata, were later seen alongside BJP leader Nitin Nabin, raising speculations of a potential political realignment.
As reports suggest a growing closeness between dissatisfied RLM leaders and the BJP, resignations within the Rashtriya Lok Morcha persist, while Upendra Kushwaha maintains that the party remains united.
