The UPT20 League’s fourth season is scheduled to start on August 14 in Lucknow, featuring a match between Kashi Rudras and defending champions Meerut Mavericks. This 24-day tournament will spotlight the top cricketing talent from Uttar Pradesh, offering a stage for players to shine in one of India’s rapidly growing domestic T20 competitions.
Kanpur Superstars player Sameer Rizvi lauded the league for its rapid expansion and the valuable opportunities it presents to young cricketers. He emphasized how the UPT20 League serves as an excellent platform for emerging talents to exhibit their abilities and advance to higher levels in their careers.
Rizvi highlighted the significance of the UPT20 League as a significant avenue for budding cricketers, noting that many players have leveraged this platform to secure contracts in the prestigious Indian Premier League (IPL). He emphasized the intense competition during trials, where numerous skilled players strive to earn a place in the league, underscoring the league’s role in nurturing cricketing talent.
The Kanpur Superstars will begin their UPT20 League 2026 journey by facing the Noida Kings on August 15 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. The tournament’s opening ceremony and initial matches will take place in Lucknow, setting the stage for another thrilling season of the UP T20 League.
The tournament’s later stages will shift to Kanpur, with matches between Kashi Rudras and Noida Kings scheduled for August 28. Kanpur will host the closing ceremony and the grand final, promising an exciting conclusion to the competition. The knockout phase, including Qualifier 1, the Eliminator, and Qualifier 2, will be held in Kanpur from September 3 to September 4, culminating in the final on September 6 at the iconic Green Park Stadium. Fans can anticipate an exhilarating end to the fourth edition of the league.
