Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman, Esmaeil Baghaei, revealed that the United States is communicating with Iran via intermediaries like Pakistan and Qatar. Baghaei emphasized the need for a conducive environment for dialogue, accusing the US of undermining such conditions. He highlighted Iran’s focus on safeguarding its sovereignty and people from perceived US aggression.
Baghaei referenced a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Iran and the US, alleging American violations of the agreement. The MoU, signed on June 18, aimed to initiate discussions within 60 days for a final resolution, but recent tensions have jeopardized this process. US President Donald Trump hinted at potential negotiations with Iran while reiterating a firm stance against Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
Trump underscored the US’s unwavering stance on preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, citing concerns over potential catastrophic consequences. He claimed significant military strikes against Iran, alleging substantial damage to Iran’s military assets. The President reiterated the US’s primary objective of thwarting Iran’s nuclear weapon development.
