US forces conducted another round of strikes on Iranian military targets, marking the 13th consecutive night of attacks. The strikes, initiated at 6:45 p.m. Eastern Time, aimed to hold Iran accountable and reduce threats from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to commercial shipping. Since resuming a naval blockade against Iran, US forces have redirected 12 commercial vessels and disabled one from accessing Iranian ports or coastal areas.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reported halting three oil tankers from passing through the Strait of Hormuz, with one tanker catching fire after an explosion. The IRGC stated that any ship attempting to pass without Iran’s consent would face similar consequences. US forces had previously launched strikes across Iran for 12 consecutive nights, targeting various locations including cities in western Iran and a power station near the Bushehr nuclear plant in the south.
US President Donald Trump mentioned the possibility of restarting major combat operations in Iran, including larger strikes than the Operation Epic Fury conducted on February 28.
