Michael Rubin, a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, criticized US President Donald Trump for relying on Pakistan for mediating national security concerns. Rubin likened this to hiring a child molester to teach in a kindergarten. Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif had made controversial remarks about Israel, calling it “evil” and a “cancerous state.”

White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt praised Pakistan for its mediation role in the US-Iran conflict. She referred to Pakistan as the sole mediator in the negotiation. President Trump also commended Pakistan’s leaders for their contributions to potential deals.

Rubin labeled Pakistan’s involvement in US-Iran negotiations as ‘malevolent.’ He highlighted Pakistan’s history, including A.Q. Khan’s assistance to Iran’s nuclear program. Rubin criticized the US for rewarding Islamabad despite its past actions.

Pakistan’s negative stance towards the US was emphasized by Rubin, who cited instances like the killing of Osama Bin Laden and Taliban insurgency. He pointed out that Pakistani factories supplied materials for Taliban explosives, leading to American casualties. Rubin warned against the dangers of empowering Islamabad further.
