US Secretary of State and National Security Advisor Marco Rubio met with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval in New Delhi to discuss defense, security, and strategic technology cooperation, including the TRUST initiative. The meeting highlighted the importance of the bilateral Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership and included talks on regional and global issues.
Earlier, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar engaged with Rubio on various aspects of the India-US partnership and mutual interests. Discussions covered trade, energy, defense, security, critical minerals, AI, nuclear cooperation, and counter-terrorism efforts. Jaishankar also looked forward to the Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.
Rubio also met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the Middle East situation and energy partnerships. They emphasized the significance of US-India relations in energy security and emerging technologies. PM Modi expressed commitment to global cooperation for peace and security, emphasizing continued collaboration between the two countries.
