US Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed excitement about celebrating America’s 250th birthday alongside partners in India. Rubio highlighted the significance of this collaboration between the world’s largest democracy, India, and the world’s oldest democracy, the United States. The US Embassy in India also conveyed their anticipation for the celebration, welcoming Rubio’s visit.
Rubio is set to visit India from May 23-26, with plans to tour Kolkata, Agra, Jaipur, and New Delhi. The discussions during his visit are expected to cover various topics such as the Quad partnership, energy security, trade, and defense cooperation. These talks come at a crucial time amid escalating geopolitical tensions in the Indo-Pacific and the Middle East.
During his trip, Rubio will engage in discussions with senior Indian officials focusing on energy security, trade, and defense cooperation. Additionally, he is scheduled to participate in the Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting involving India, the United States, Japan, and Australia. This visit follows a recent telephonic conversation between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump, where they emphasized strengthening their bilateral partnership across all sectors.
