US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s upcoming visit to India highlights the significance of the Quad partnership, according to the US Embassy in India. The Quad alliance comprises India, Australia, Japan, and the United States, aiming to promote a free and open Indo-Pacific region for global welfare and resilience. India is gearing up to host the Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on May 26, with participation from key officials including Marco Rubio.

Marco Rubio expressed Washington’s interest in bolstering energy cooperation with India and strengthening Quad collaboration to address global supply chain disruptions. Describing India as a valuable ally and partner, Rubio emphasized the need for increased energy exports to India amid concerns over oil and gas supply disruptions. Discussions on energy cooperation between the US and India are already in progress and are expected to continue during Rubio’s visit.

Highlighting India’s growing strategic importance, Rubio praised the country as a crucial partner for the United States.
