US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is set to visit Jaipur on May 25 as part of his India tour. This will mark Rubio’s first visit to Jaipur. Rubio is expected to arrive in Jaipur at approximately 2 p.m. on May 25 and depart at 6.30 a.m. on May 26.
During his stay, Rubio plans to tour Amer Fort. Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari is scheduled to welcome Rubio at Amer Fort around 3 p.m. Preparations for a ceremonial reception are underway at Jaleb Chowk inside the historic fort complex.
Folk artists and cultural troupes are being organized to present Rajasthan’s traditional heritage and cultural performances during the welcome ceremony. Authorities in Jaipur are on high alert due to the high-profile visit, with security agencies closely monitoring hotels, tourist sites, and locations designated for VVIP movement.
Inspections of travel routes, event venues, and accommodation facilities linked to Rubio’s visit have commenced. A detailed traffic and crowd management plan is being developed to ensure smooth movement and prevent disruptions during his stay. Civic agencies are enhancing cleanliness, lighting, and beautification efforts at major tourist sites, especially Amer Palace, in anticipation of the visit.
Rubio’s India visit from May 23 to 26 includes stops in Kolkata, Agra, Jaipur, and New Delhi. The visit aims to bolster cooperation between India and the United States in trade, defence, energy, and strategic affairs. Rubio is expected to engage in high-level meetings and diplomatic discussions, focusing on regional and strategic cooperation.
Administrative departments have been directed to make seamless arrangements and prevent any disturbances during Rubio’s visit to Jaipur. Notably, last year, US Vice President J.D. Vance visited Jaipur with his family from April 21 to 24. Vance explored various tourist attractions, including Amer Fort, and participated in an event in the city.
