The capital city of Rajasthan, Jaipur, is under heightened security and traffic diversions as US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is scheduled to arrive. Rubio is expected to land at Jaipur International Airport around 2 p.m. and will visit Amer Palace for cultural engagements during his brief stay before departing the next morning. Security measures have led to extensive traffic restrictions, affecting major routes like JLN Marg due to the VVIP movement.
Authorities have enforced traffic closures along the Airport-Amer corridor and other key areas to facilitate Rubio’s movement from the airport to Amer Palace. Parking along the VVIP route extending from Jaipur Airport to Amer is prohibited, with exceptions for ambulances and essential service vehicles. Traffic police have arranged diversion routes for vehicles affected by the restrictions, including buses and slow-moving vehicles.
During his visit to Amer Palace, Rubio is expected to explore various sections of the palace, including Sheesh Mahal, Diwan-e-Aam, and Ganesh Pol, where cultural performances are planned. Security has been significantly heightened in Jaipur, with a two-day ban on drone operations imposed in specific police station jurisdictions. Violators will face legal action under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
