Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed sorrow over the loss of lives in a fire at a coaching center in Lucknow. He visited the injured in a hospital and declared a compensation of Rs 5 lakh for each victim’s family. The tragic incident claimed the lives of 14 individuals, aged between 20 and 24, in Aliganj.
Chief Minister Adityanath conveyed his condolences to the affected families, emphasizing the need for swift recovery of the injured. Eyewitnesses described a scene of panic as thick smoke engulfed the building, leading some to jump from upper floors to escape. The blaze, which started in the coaching center, spread rapidly, causing extensive damage.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed grief over the incident and announced financial aid for the victims’ families. He assured that rescue operations were ongoing and that necessary support was being provided. The PM announced an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh for each deceased person’s next of kin and Rs 50,000 for the injured.
