Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has acknowledged the tragic road accident on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Unnao district that resulted in five fatalities and numerous injuries.
The accident occurred when a bus collided with a car on the expressway, leading to five deaths and multiple injuries. Initial investigations suggest that the bus driver fell asleep at the wheel, causing the collision.
CM Yogi Adityanath extended his condolences to the families of the deceased and instructed officials to ensure proper medical care for the injured individuals. He also personally reached out to the families of the victims, offering support and assistance.
The collision took place near kilometre marker 230.800 on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway, specifically in the Bangarmau police station area of Unnao district. The speeding bus lost control, hit a car, and overturned, resulting in significant damage to the vehicles involved.
Authorities reported that nine individuals were in the car during the accident, with five fatalities and three others sustaining severe injuries. The injured were promptly taken to the Bangarmau Community Health Centre for initial treatment before being transferred to the Lucknow Trauma Centre due to the critical nature of their injuries.
