Rajgir, Bihar, April 14 – Ketan Kushwaha, the captain of Uttar Pradesh Hockey, praised the team’s victory strategy after clinching the Sub Junior Men’s National Championship title with a 5-2 win against Hockey Madhya Pradesh. Kushwaha highlighted the importance of open communication and mutual belief in their success, emphasizing the early goal that set the momentum for their triumph.
Reflecting on the match, Kushwaha expressed confidence in the team’s ability to maintain pressure and secure the championship by working cohesively as a unit. Dr. RP Singh, the president of Uttar Pradesh Hockey, commended the victory as a result of the state’s dedicated efforts in nurturing young talent and building a strong hockey culture from the grassroots level.
Singh attributed the success to a long-term vision of identifying and developing young players, providing structured coaching, facilities, and a competitive environment. He acknowledged the contributions of coaches like Rajnish Mishra and Upender Chauhan, emphasizing the disciplined representation of Uttar Pradesh in national competitions. The championship win adds to Uttar Pradesh Hockey’s recent string of successes, with 13 medals, including five gold medals, across various categories since 2021.
