Uttar Pradesh Minister and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief, Om Prakash Rajbhar, has accused Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav of trying to instigate riots in the state to secure Muslim votes in the upcoming Assembly elections. Rajbhar stated that Yadav desires a recurrence of past riots and curfews that occurred during his tenure, causing suffering to the common people.
Rajbhar highlighted the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots, emphasizing the violence and chaos that ensued, claiming that Yadav aims to orchestrate similar situations to garner Muslim support. He further alleged that Yadav is dissatisfied with the peaceful state of Muslims under the current BJP government, insinuating that Yadav believes inciting unrest would reflect poorly on the ruling party.
The SBSP chief also criticized the SP for alleged past atrocities against Dalits and backward castes during their governance. Rajbhar accused the SP of initiating a ‘reign of terror’ immediately after securing power, citing specific incidents of violence against Dalit communities for not supporting the party in elections. He described these acts as reminiscent of “Mughal barbarity” and condemned the SP for its treatment of Bahujans.
Rajbhar continued his accusations, linking the SP to criminal activities such as throwing eggs at vehicles to facilitate robberies, as well as heinous crimes like rape and murder. He recounted specific instances of brutality allegedly committed by SP members during their rule, including incidents in Badaun and Bulandshahr, to underscore his claims against the party’s leadership.
During a recent visit to Ballia district, Rajbhar claimed that SP workers and hooligans were causing disturbances on the streets, with criminals openly displaying SP flags. He criticized the lack of regard for law and order displayed by these individuals associated with the Samajwadi Party.
