Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami recently traveled from Delhi to Dehradun in just 2.5 hours, showcasing India’s improved infrastructure. He praised the newly developed Delhi–Dehradun Economic Corridor for significantly reducing travel time compared to the past. This advancement signifies a major enhancement in connectivity between the national capital and Uttarakhand.
Chief Minister Dhami expressed gratitude to the Central Government and PM Modi upon his arrival, highlighting the modern engineering excellence of the project. He emphasized that such high-speed corridors are a result of the Prime Minister’s vision for enhanced transport facilities, benefiting states like Uttarakhand that faced geographical challenges. The economic corridor is not just a road project but a catalyst for regional economic growth, opening up new opportunities for tourism, investment, and employment.
The completion of the Delhi–Dehradun Economic Corridor is seen as a crucial step towards holistic development in Uttarakhand. This corridor, a six-lane expressway spanning 213 km and costing over Rs 12,000 crore, has significantly reduced travel time between Delhi and Dehradun. It aims to boost trade, tourism, and connectivity while incorporating measures for wildlife protection and conservation.
