After BJP MP Trivendra Singh Rawat backed Keshav Negi, Uttarakhand Congress President Ganesh Godiyal has also advocated for Negi’s release and a fair probe into the recent hotel fire tragedy in Delhi’s Malviya Nagar. The fire at Flourish Stay B&B on June 3 claimed 21 lives, including 13 foreigners, with the property owner already in custody. Negi, a 65-year-old, was later arrested on alleged negligence charges related to the fire incident.
Expressing condolences for the victims, Godiyal emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into the fire’s causes and safety measures at the hotel. He raised concerns over Negi’s arrest, questioning whether he had the responsibility to combat the fire as a chef at the establishment. Godiyal urged for a detailed inquiry into safety compliance and regulatory oversight at the premises.
Godiyal criticized the Delhi government’s handling of the situation, highlighting the need for accountability rather than targeting individuals like Negi. He called for Negi’s release pending investigation and stressed the importance of determining actual culpability in the tragic incident. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also engaged with Delhi authorities to ensure justice and fairness in the case.
