The first service quickly sold out after opening ticket reservations, showcasing passengers’ enthusiasm for the speed and comfort of the Vande Bharat Sleeper.
Passengers praised the quality of bedrolls and food offerings on the train, appreciating the ‘Make in India’ initiative. They also highlighted the cleanliness and prompt service by the staff. Passengers emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness and hygiene during the journey. The return journey from Howrah will begin on January 23, offering Assamese and Bengali cuisines and premium bedroll items to passengers.
The Vande Bharat Sleeper Express, with a 16-coach rake and a total capacity of 823 passengers, includes various travel options like AC three-tier, AC two-tier, and First Class AC coaches. The train features cushioned berths, advanced suspension systems, noise-reduction technology, automatic doors, and a modern Passenger Information System. Special provisions for differently-abled passengers, contemporary toilets, and advanced disinfection technology enhance hygiene and comfort. Safety measures include the ‘Kavach’ automatic train protection system and emergency passenger talk-back units.
