Actor Varun Badola highlighted the growing acknowledgment of character artists in the entertainment industry, especially due to the surge of OTT platforms and social media. He emphasized that many talented actors who do not fit the traditional leading roles are now receiving the appreciation they deserve, thanks to the opportunities provided by OTT and social media platforms. Badola noted that OTT shows, not solely driven by star power, offer substantial roles to actors beyond the typical profiles.

In a conversation, Varun Badola expressed his views on the evolving trend of character artists gaining prominence in the industry with the advent of social media and OTT platforms. He credited the significant role played by OTT platforms in reshaping the landscape by offering diverse and meaningful roles to actors who were previously overlooked. Badola also discussed the influence of social media in amplifying the popularity of even minor characters through memes and reels.

Varun Badola further elaborated on the impact of social media platforms in propelling the recognition of actors, stating that the virality of content through memes and reels contributes to the widespread acknowledgment of performers. He emphasized that quality opportunities provided by OTT platforms are crucial for actors to gain visibility and build their fan base, leading to a more inclusive and diverse representation in the industry.

Highlighting the changing dynamics in the film industry, Varun Badola cited examples like Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh’s film “Dhurandhar” to illustrate how concept-driven movies are gaining traction irrespective of star power. He pointed out that such films focus on content rather than star cast, allowing actors like Rakesh Bedi to finally receive the recognition they have long deserved. Badola emphasized that the shift towards concept-driven content is enabling even supporting actors to garner widespread popularity.
