Venezuela’s Acting President Delcy Rodriguez has arrived in New Delhi for a five-day visit to India. The visit aims to strengthen ties between the two nations. Rodriguez is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss various aspects of India–Venezuela relations, including energy security, trade, investment, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, transportation, and renewable energy.
Accompanied by a delegation of Venezuela’s Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Economy and Finance, Science and Technology, Communication and Information, and Transportation, Rodriguez will explore collaboration opportunities in sectors such as energy, pharmaceuticals, and auto industries. This visit marks Rodriguez’s sixth trip to India, having previously visited in various official capacities.
India and Venezuela have a history of partnership in energy and investment, with Indian PSUs having significant investments in Venezuela’s energy sector. Both countries share warm relations and a commitment to the Global South. The visit is expected to further solidify bilateral ties and enhance cooperation across multiple sectors.
