Directed by Bharathiraja, ‘Red Rose’ featured Rajesh Khanna and Poonam Dhillon, while ‘Saveray Wali Gaadi’ starred Sunny Deol alongside Dhillon. Bharathiraja, a stalwart in Tamil cinema, recently passed away due to age-related health issues. His funeral in Chennai was attended by various members of the South Indian film industry, including Suriya, Kamal Haasan, and Chief Minister M. K. Stalin, who paid their respects.
Chiranjeevi also expressed his sorrow on social media, praising Bharathiraja’s cinematic legacy. He described the late filmmaker as a maestro who captured the essence of village life, human relationships, love, and emotions in his films, leaving an indelible mark on Indian cinema.
