Veteran Bollywood actress Zarina Wahab recently shared a photo with actor Master Raju, evoking nostalgia from their time working together on the film “Chitchor.” The picture captured a heartwarming moment between the two, with Zarina expressing fond memories by captioning it as, “Time apart, hearts together….!! With my little Raju.”
“Chitchor,” released in 1976, was adapted from Subodh Ghosh’s Bengali story, Chittachakor. Directed by Basu Chatterjee, the movie featured a talented cast including Vijayendra Ghatge, A. K. Hangal, Amol Palekar, Dina Pathak, Ritu Kamal, Shail Chaturvedi, and C. S. Dubey. The film was remade in Telugu as “Ammayi Manasu,” in Malayalam as “Minda Poochakku Kalyanam,” and in Tamil as “Ullam Kavarntha Kalvan.”
Master Raju, known for his work as a child actor in the 1970s, has been a part of numerous acclaimed films like Gulzar’s “Parichay,” Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s “Bawarchi,” and Yash Chopra’s “Daag: A Poem of Love.” With a career spanning over 200 films and several television series, Raju has left a lasting impact on the industry. His last appearance was in the 2005 film “Khamoshh… Khauff Ki Raat,” a mystery thriller directed by Deepak Tijori.
Zarina Wahab, recognized for her roles in films like “Gopal Krishna,” “Madanolsavam,” and “Adaminte Makan Abu,” has also been in the spotlight for her recent work in the romantic action drama “Dacoit: A Love Story.” In the film, which stars Adivi Sesh and Mruna Thakur, Zarina portrays a pivotal role in a narrative centered around betrayal and wrongful conviction.
