A national-level panel discussion at Auro University during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference highlighted strategies for achieving self-reliance in the fertiliser sector through import substitution. The discussion emphasized the need to enhance domestic production capacity to reduce India’s dependence on imports for key fertiliser inputs.
Experts from various sectors, including the fertiliser industry, agriculture, academia, and policy institutions, gathered to discuss technology-driven solutions and policy interventions for sustainable agriculture. The importance of increasing domestic output of essential fertilisers like urea and diammonium phosphate (DAP) was underscored to reduce import dependence and production costs.
The conference also addressed the development of tourism infrastructure in tribal and rural regions of Gujarat, focusing on eco-tourism and cultural heritage initiatives. State Tourism Minister Dr. Jayram Gamit highlighted the tourism potential in South Gujarat’s tribal areas, mentioning the growth in tourist arrivals and ongoing development projects to enhance tourism experiences.
