Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan is set to arrive in Srinagar on Wednesday evening for his first two-day visit to the Kashmir Valley. Upon landing at Srinagar Airport, he will proceed to Lok Bhawan in Chashma Shahi, where he will stay overnight. Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will welcome him upon arrival.
The Vice President will serve as the chief guest at the 21st convocation of the University of Kashmir, to be held at the Hazratbal campus on Thursday. Security measures have been heightened in preparation for his visit, with security forces conducting a dry run along his designated route in Srinagar.
Ahead of the visit, temporary check posts have been established, and vehicle inspections and passenger frisking have commenced to ensure top-notch security for the Vice President. The traffic department has issued guidelines for the public to follow alternate routes to allow smooth passage for the Vice President’s convoy during his stay.
Authorities have outlined specific traffic restrictions in various areas, directing motorists to use alternative routes for seamless traffic flow. Motorists are advised to plan their travel routes accordingly to avoid any disruptions during the Vice President’s visit.
