Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan commended ISRO for the successful launch of LVM3-M6, which carried the US spacecraft BlueBird Block-2, describing it as a significant achievement for India. The launch took place from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.

BlueBird 6, a communication satellite weighing 6,100 kg, set a new record as the heaviest payload launched into Low Earth Orbit through the LVM3 program. This satellite, part of the BlueBird Block-2 series, aims to offer cellular broadband connectivity directly to mobile devices, enhancing telecommunications capabilities.
This mission signifies the 6th operational flight of the LVM3 launch vehicle and a significant advancement in telecommunications technology. With a focus on providing high-speed connectivity, the 6,100 kg payload is tailored to deliver 4G and 5G services directly to smartphones, reflecting the evolving landscape of space-based communications.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also applauded the successful launch, recognizing it as a remarkable milestone for India’s space endeavors. He praised the heavy-lift launch capability demonstrated by placing the BlueBird Block-2 satellite into orbit, underscoring India’s progress in the space industry and its commitment to self-reliance.
