Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan stressed the importance of discipline during a meeting with the My Bharat – National Service Scheme (NSS) contingent at his official residence in New Delhi. He commended the enthusiasm and discipline of the NSS participants, reflecting India’s youth strength. Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya and other dignitaries were also present.
Radhakrishnan shared his own experience with the NSS during his student days, highlighting its role in shaping character and social responsibility. He praised the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports for their effective execution of the program, especially during the Republic Day Parade. Emphasizing unity, he stated that India’s power lies in national integration and collective service to society.
The Vice President encouraged the youth to serve society selflessly and uphold national interests. He mentioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047, emphasizing the need for disciplined, patriotic citizens. Radhakrishnan recognized the vital role of NSS volunteers in various areas like literacy, environmental protection, health awareness, and disaster relief efforts.
