Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan highlighted the significance of the convocation as a crucial step in India’s journey towards becoming a global hub of skilled human capital. He praised the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for driving a transformative shift in skilling and human capital development through initiatives like Skill India and PM-SETU. Addressing the first convocation of Ratan Tata Maharashtra State Skills University, he urged graduates to champion India’s talent and professionalism globally.
Reflecting on India’s demographic advantage, Vice-President Radhakrishnan stressed the need for proper skills among the young population to leverage their potential effectively. He emphasized the importance of universities updating their curriculum to meet modern challenges and align education with industry needs. The Vice-President also commended Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s vision, positioning the state as a contender among global economies.
Appreciating the university’s responsibility to bridge the gap between education and employability, Vice-President Radhakrishnan highlighted the industry’s role in nurturing socially responsible individuals. He launched the “Say No to Drugs” campaign and visited an exhibition by industry partners focused on Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
