Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan inaugurated a two-day Orientation-cum-Training Programme for the members of the 18th Bihar Legislative Assembly in Gaya. He emphasized the importance of a developed Bihar for a developed India, highlighting the need for unity in upholding the Constitution and public welfare. Radhakrishnan stressed the significance of parliamentary procedures like Question Hour and Zero Hour in ensuring effective legislative functioning.
Bihar Governor Lt Gen (Retd.) Syed Ata Hasnain, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar, and other dignitaries attended the event. The Vice President commended the efforts of various bodies in organizing the program, aiming to enhance legislators’ ability to fulfill their constitutional duties. He praised the symbolic gesture of hosting the event in Gaya, bridging the gap between Patna and the venue.
Referring to Bihar’s historical role in democracy, the Vice President urged legislators to honor the state’s legacy and serve the public diligently. He encouraged them to focus on creating opportunities for employment and development in Bihar, aiming to attract workers from other regions. Radhakrishnan reiterated the interconnectedness of Bihar’s progress with that of the nation, emphasizing the need for collective efforts towards a prosperous India.
