Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan is set to be the chief guest at Tripura University’s 14th Convocation on March 8. The university, which couldn’t hold the ceremony in 2024 and 2025, will confer certificates, degrees, gold medals, and PhD degrees to eligible students. A total of 283 students will receive gold medals, and 149 research scholars will be awarded PhD degrees during the upcoming convocation.
Tripura University, located in Suryamaninagar on the outskirts of Agartala, will host the event. Notable figures like Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, Chief Minister Manik Saha, and University Chancellor Ahmad Javed will also participate in the ceremony. The university, established in 1987 and converted into a Central University in 2007, currently has 64 affiliated colleges.
The Ministry of Education is in the process of selecting a new Vice-Chancellor for Tripura University. Amid this process, there is a growing demand for an experienced and independent administrator to be appointed. The final decision by the Ministry is eagerly awaited as it is seen as crucial for restoring academic excellence and administrative stability at the university.
