Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan is set to visit Tamil Nadu on Sunday for the foundation stone laying ceremony of the V.O. Chidambaram Pillai statue in Madurai. Additionally, during his trip, he will also tour the Thirukoshtiyur Sowmya Narayana Perumal Temple and Rani Velu Nachiyar Palace in Sivaganga.
On the occasion of International Mother Language Day, Vice-President Radhakrishnan unveiled updated versions of the Indian Constitution in Tamil and Gujarati, along with the eighth edition of the Legal Glossary (English–Hindi). He emphasized the significance of making the Constitution accessible to people in their native languages to enhance democratic engagement and awareness.
Praising Tamil as one of the oldest classical languages globally and Gujarati for its cultural and philosophical depth, the Vice-President commended the Ministry of Law and Justice for their efforts in translating the Constitution. He lauded the Ministry’s work in ensuring broader citizen access to the Constitution, promoting democratic values.
At the National CSR Summit 2026 event in New Delhi, Vice-President Radhakrishnan stressed the importance of collaborative efforts between institutions for societal and national advancement. He highlighted India’s economic growth under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, positioning the country as the fourth largest economy globally and on track to become the third largest.
Emphasizing the impact of structural reforms, digital connectivity, and inclusive development, the Vice-President noted the upliftment of over 25 crore citizens from extreme poverty. He called for deeper partnerships among the government, industry, and civil society for the next phase of development, stating that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) plays a central role in national progress.
