Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) President Thol Thirumavalavan hinted at discussions regarding Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam’s (TVK) offer to join C. Joseph Vijay’s cabinet. The VCK had earlier clarified that its support to the Vijay government was to ensure political stability and prevent interference from the BJP-led Union government during cabinet formation. Thirumavalavan mentioned that TVK assured him that rebel AIADMK members would not be included in the cabinet.
Thirumavalavan had previously warned that VCK might reconsider its support if AIADMK dissidents were given ministerial positions. He appreciated Minister Aadhav Arjuna for endorsing TVK’s interest in involving VCK in the government. The VCK saw TVK’s invitation during the release of “Ellorukkumana Thalaivar Ambedkar” as a significant political gesture, despite not joining the TVK alliance due to electoral constraints.
During a recent high-level committee meeting, most senior VCK members reportedly favored joining the government. Thirumavalavan emphasized that the party did not demand ministerial roles but offered unconditional support for government formation despite winning only two seats. The VCK aims to engage in governance as part of its political vision and plans detailed discussions with senior officials before deciding on cabinet participation.
