Actor Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has become a significant contender in the upcoming 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, leading the recent Axis My India exit poll. The survey projects TVK to secure between 98 and 120 seats out of the 234-member Assembly, surpassing both the ruling DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance (DMK+) and the AIADMK-led alliance.
The numbers indicate that Vijay’s party could potentially become the largest force or play a crucial role in forming the government. The DMK+ is expected to win between 92 and 110 seats, positioning Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s alliance as a close second.
While the ruling coalition remains competitive, the projections suggest that it might face challenges in reaching the majority mark of 118 on its own. On the other hand, the AIADMK-led alliance (AIADMK+), including the BJP and other partners, is forecasted to secure only 22 to 32 seats, placing it in a distant third position.
The exit poll, based on a survey of 44,460 respondents across all 234 constituencies, also highlights a nearly equal battle in vote share between TVK and the DMK+. Both parties are expected to capture around 35% of the vote share, with the AIADMK+ trailing at approximately 23%.
