Vinesh Phogat has shown her determination to bounce back after the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) issued a detailed notice against her, citing indiscipline and anti-doping rule violations. The WFI declared her ineligible for domestic tournaments until June 26. In response, Vinesh expressed her resolve on social media, stating that no challenge can make her bow down.
The WFI’s 15-page notice accused Vinesh of not fulfilling the mandatory six-month notice period required for athletes returning from retirement under United World Wrestling anti-doping regulations. This development delays the two-time World Championships medallist’s planned comeback to competitive wrestling. Vinesh had aimed to participate in the National Open Ranking event in Gonda but will now have to wait due to these issues.
This situation adds another chapter of drama to Indian wrestling, with Vinesh once again embroiled in controversy during a challenging period for the sport in the country.
