A dispute in Patpara village, Madhya Pradesh, over alleged encroachment on a government pathway turned violent, injuring a station house officer. The villagers attacked the officer, Indraj Singh, with an axe and a sickle while he tried to resolve the protest.
Residents had blocked a public road, seeking action against what they believed was an illegal occupation of a government route. Despite pending complaints with revenue authorities, the issue remained unresolved, escalating tensions in the area.
In response to the escalating situation, Singh and a police team arrived to persuade protesters to lift the blockade. However, the attempt to restore normalcy led to a confrontation, resulting in severe head injuries to Singh. He was promptly taken to the District Hospital in Sidhi for treatment.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate Vikas Kumar Anand, accompanied by officials and personnel from five police stations, intervened to disperse the crowd, clear the blockade, and restore order in Patpara village. Several individuals were detained in connection with the incident.
