A violent clash occurred in Anditola village under Dhamdaha police station in Purnea on Saturday between two tribal factions over a land dispute. The altercation, which began locally around 7.30 am, quickly escalated, resulting in injuries to multiple individuals, including police personnel, and damage to several vehicles.
Upon police intervention to control the situation, they were attacked by an agitated mob at the scene. Two individuals, Babulal Soren and Ashok Soren, were taken hostage and beaten by one faction, leading to further violence. In the aftermath, two members from one group and five from the opposing faction sustained injuries and were taken for medical treatment.
During the operation to restore order, miscreants targeted police personnel, injuring four officers, including SHO Ravishankar and Dial-112 driver Kundan. The situation was eventually brought under control with the arrival of senior officials and additional police forces from nearby stations. Law and order have since been restored in the area, with efforts ongoing to identify and apprehend those involved in the violence.
