Virat Kohli’s 49 runs propelled Royal Challengers Bengaluru to a successful chase of 147 runs against Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL match. RCB secured the win in just 15.1 overs, reclaiming the top spot on the points table with 8 points from five games.
Initially, RCB faced a slow start, scoring only six runs in the opening over. However, Kohli’s aggressive play, including consecutive boundaries off Mohammed Shami, quickly shifted the momentum in RCB’s favor. By the end of the powerplay, RCB had reached 60/1, with Kohli contributing 40 runs off just 20 balls.
Despite a minor setback with Kohli’s dismissal at 49, RCB’s Rajat Patidar and Jitesh Sharma accelerated the scoring. Patidar added a quick 27 off 13 balls before both fell to Prince Yadav. Tim David and Romario Shepherd then guided RCB to victory with 29 balls to spare.
Lucknow Super Giants, batting first, struggled to build momentum, with openers Marsh and Markram finding it tough against RCB’s bowlers. Rishabh Pant’s injury further hampered LSG’s innings, with the team managing to post 146/10 in 20 overs.
